Having worked with ms-products for years, i considered to install an opensource solution called “FreeNas” for my fileserver. Having no unix-, nor any linux experience, i decided to give it a try. Not that I’m such a big ms-fan, but two days later i can proudly say : this soft officialy sucks !

If you experience problems with installation on whatever level ; If it’s a problem with the ip-detection or dhcp-binding and not getting the “WebGui” running, then just forget about Freenas…. it’s a big waste of my time and probably yours as well.

Let’s see what “Openfiler” has to tell me….I’ll keep you up to date
